Cheese is not bad for cholesterol
According to a Danish study, cheese is not bad for blood cholesterol. Butter does.
had 50 subjects for 6 weeks daily amount of butter or cheese food, which was equivalent to 13 percent of their daily energy consumption of fat. Each person ate cheese six weeks, then returned two weeks back to his normal diet and ended up with six weeks butter. After the experiment showed that after six weeks of cheese “bad” LDL cholesterol was not increased but remained at the level As with their regular diet, even though they ate significantly more fat. Six weeks extra butter did lead to an increase in LDL cholesterol by an average of 7%.A possible explanation for the beneficial effect of cheese is that the relatively rich source of calcium, which has been proved this helps in the excretion of fat through the digestive tract . Other explanations are talking about the large number of proteins in cheese and the fermentation process, both of which affect the digestive process. The study is funded by the Danish Dairy Board and the National Dairy Research Institute.
