Fish oil capsules not recommended for cancer patients
Fish oil capsules that many patients with cancer may develop cancer cells insensitive to chemotherapy. That Researchers from the University Medical Center Utrecht in the journal Cancer Cell, the researchers recommend the use of fish oil and fish oil supplements off for patients undergoing chemotherapy. The researchers found that chemotherapy platinum analogs containing human mesenchymal stem cells start to produce two fatty acids that induce resistance to chemotherapy. The fatty acids found are also present in fish oil and algae extract. Especially fish oil is widely used by cancer patients because of the health effects of omega-3. In mice became resistant to chemotherapy with platinum analogs when they were administered doses of fish oil similar to the recommended daily human dose.
