Flying Humvee is coming
De design is almost finished and the first prototypes are being built. Demonstrations may follow as early as 2015.
It is a project of the U.S. DARPA ( Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency ), which include Lockheed Martin is engaged in building. DARPA now shows that the first viable design finished.
Phase 2
And so it’s time for phase two: building prototypes. These are then built and evaluated within a few years. Phase three: demonstrations in the air and ground, is thus one step closer.
Obstacle
will be for decades to a flying car worked. There are quite a few obstacles to be overcome. For example, the car in the air and on the ground to perform well and safe. The car should not be excessive, because then it off the ground. At the same time there is a heavy engine in the car vertically into the air to bring. Also, the car kind of wings. And those wings have to stay somewhere when the car just driving. It must also be easy to drive the flying car, a driver with only a car license, both on the road and air to operate.
There is still much work to do so. But the fact that there are feasible designs are now become prototypes is promising. Citizens or we will end up with these cars literally transcend the files, is doubtful. The transport is initially developed for the military.
