Kryptos: undecipherable?
Kryptos: undecipherable?
Before the CIA headquarters is a work of art that can make people mad. The code is there, is not to crack. At least …
The artwork is located in Langley, for the office of the CIA. And although there are many smart people in that organization and also leave their brains looked like crack at seeing the code: nobody has yet succeeded in deciphering it completely.
Sanborn
The artwork was designed by Jim Sanborn, and was placed in 1990. It consists of four parts with a total of 1735 letters. Three of the four sections have been deciphered. But the fourth, there are experts and enthusiasts, but not out.
Part 1
of this Part, the following characters to be found: The code was cracked and there appeared to be the following: “Between subtle shading and the absence of light lies the nuance or iqlusion” .

The code was cracked and there appeared the following words: “Between subtle shading and the absence of light lies the nuance or iqlusion”.
What was it exactly work? Use was made of a Vigènecijfer. This works with a schedule. Below is the schedule Sanborn used. To use this schedule to get started, first a codeword are chosen. The code words of the sentence appeared to Kryptos and Palimpsest. It converts the text you want translated and placed below the code word. Something like this:

You check the schedule where the B and K intersect and that’s your secret letter. So that in this case an E.
It will perhaps have noticed that there is a misspelling in the last word. This is a deliberate and should help to solve the fourth and last part of the puzzle.
Part 2
The second part is as follows:

And it means: “It was totally invisible hows That Possible? They overused magnetic field The Earth X The information was Gathered and to an unknown location TRANSMITTED undergruund X Does Langley know about this? They Should its buried out there somewhere X Who knows the exact location? Only WW this was His last message X Thirty eight degrees fifty-seven minutes six point five seconds north Seventy seven degrees eight minutes forty four seconds west two X Layer “.
To decipher this part can be used the same method as for the first part. But the key words are: “Kryptos” and “ABSCISSA. Also in this section is yet to find a spelling error: “UNDERGRUUND.Probably says something about this error also part four. Furthermore, this part quite difficult to “translate” the X’jes who are anywhere between. They convert a crypto lied while on the wrong foot.WW refers to William Webster, the man of the entire Sanborn possible or at least a part of the solution have heard. This prevents the secret Sanborn him in his grave.
Part 3
The third part consists of the following characters:

And that means: “Slowly desparatly slowly the remains of passage debris That encumbered the lower part of the doorway was removed with Trembling hands I made a tiny breach in the upper left hand corner and then widening the hole a little I Inserted the candle and peered In the hot air escaping from the chamber caused the flame to flicker but Presently details of the room emerged from the mist within-X Can you see anything Q (?) “
In this section the letters were in the wrong place and could only be found by the solution of complex matrices in the right place to find the letters.
Part 4
And then we come again with the fourth and last part. The part that no one has deciphered, consists of these letters:
How can this code be cracked? Many people have already bent (including the CIA itself), but no one seems able to identify the solution. Some suspect that the solution is not written in English, but maybe that is itself a code to be translated again. Sanborn is it all just take a long time and gave a tip late last year in hopes that someone can decipher part four now. He said the signs NYPVTT eventually lead to the word “BERLIN”. But so far has not yet led to the solution.
Who thinks it’s all a hoax, it is wrong, so often already stressed Sanborn. Part four is difficult, but to solve. That does not mean that the solution of section four the whole issue is completed. Part four constitutes, together with the other parts are still a mystery. According to Sanborn, the chance that someone finally knows the entire puzzle to figure out is very small.
Who wants to take it a try, can best meet various groups who are committed to Kryptos decipher. A well-known group is this : think 2300 people online here together about the solution. Recently it is also possible to use the website of Jim Sanborn to submit a solution. That is here .
