Apples and pears reduce risk of stroke

apple Apples and pears reduce risk of stroke

Research by Wageningen University suggests that eating apples and pears and other fruits and vegetables on the inside is white, like bananas, cauliflower, chicory, cucumber … the likelihood of a stroke can reduce by half. The study appeared in the leading journal Stroke: Journal of the American Heart Association,

20,000 adult subjects were followed for ten years. They filled out a questionnaire in which not just their diet but also their lifestyle to be tackled. This information and the information contained in the ten years that followed was collected, the researchers were able to find a link between certain types of fruits and vegetables and stroke. In those ten years were 233 people a stroke. Fruits and vegetables were four color groups. Color group green and leafy vegetables like spinach and lettuce, color group yellow / orange like citrus fruits, carrots, red / purple with tomatoes, strawberries and black grapes and the white group with apples and pears (share 55% within the group), in addition to including banana and cauliflower. White (36%) and orange / yellow (29%) fruit and vegetables delivered the highest contribution to total fruit and vegetable consumption. People who ate lots of white fruits and vegetables were 52% lower risk of stroke. People who are 25 grams per day more white fruit and vegetables ate white, saw their chance of stroke by nine percent. The researchers could find no link between strokes and green, orange and red fruits and vegetables. Why white fruit and white vegetables is so important, is unclear. Experts emphasize that in addition to white fruits and white fruits, other colors are important. They may perhaps not affect strokes: they are again important to help prevent other diseases.
