Yoga stretches and relieve back pain

The study would examine whether yoga is more effective than conventional stretching exercises for back pain. That was not the case. It is the stretching exercises that make the difference. The study included 200 adults with a moderate chronic pain symptoms involved. The first group followed for 12 weeks yoga classes that focus on stretching and strengthening the back and leg muscles. The second group received a traditional stretching program with emphasis also on back and leg muscles, combined with strengthening exercises. A third group received a book and advice on exercise and healthy lifestyle.
